XFCE4 Orage 4.8 problems
Hello,
I'm new to XFCE4, as that's the new UbuntuStudio Oneiric desktop.
I was sharing an .ics calendar between home and work via Dropbox. At home, I was using KDE's Kontact, and at work, Mozilla Sunbird on Windows 7.
Now, I'm on XFCE, trying to use Orage 4.8, but I've a couple problems:
1) My timezone (America/Los_Angeles) is not an option to pick from in Preferences. There is a SYSTEMV/PST8PDT timezone in Globaltime, but not in Orage. When I first started Globaltime, too, it's timezone was set to /etc/localtime, but now I can't find a way to change it back (the little red "record" button doesn't do anything), nor can I change it to that in Orage. I've tried manually editing the rc files with no luck.
2) The TODOs in the .ics file don't show up in Orage. Because of quirks in Sunbird, my TODOs only have end times, no start times. Could this be why?
Thanks,
-mt

I have never been a fan of Orage as I've never been able to get it to play nice with other calender programs. Probably not what you want to hear, but I gave up and used Thunderbird/Lightning with the tray addin in the repos (this was a year or two back; I assume it's still there).

I don't use orage for anything other than the plain calendar popup when clicking on the clock/date in my panel. For personal information management, I use Lightning within Thunderbird email client. It's very similar (and compatible) to Sunbird. Do you use T-bird by any chance?
Here's a screenie of my T-bird w/ the Lightning tab opened: http://tinyurl.com/bwdt7r9

Installing all of T-Bird seems like overkill for what I wanted, but then I realized the obvious-- the Sunbird still runs quite nicely in 11.10 too!
