X11 VNC security question

Hi,

I'm using X11 VNC for taking the system remotely as it provides the real display remotely. But the issue is when I use to take my system remotely from conference room, here in my desktop place, all the people can see the mouse moving, windows moving. How to avoid it? It should lock the desktop when I take the remote connection.

This is the nature of VNC.

If you want something more secure, which does not automatically enable desktop sharing/viewing, consider NX from NoMachine or freenx.
NX does not share by default. It creates a secure connection and creates a new virtual desktop similar to the way terminal server
operates.

You kind of have two issues. One is secure on network and one is how the remote display works. In this case VNC uses generally the main display. It may be possible to use other displays but vnc's are made to move the display. There are other ways to use the system as a remote too. It may be possible in some limited situations to use it as a X client server. (remember x is reversed in names so server is client)

As noted above NX or variation might be able to be more secure to even use a different user presented remotely.
