window over multiple virtual desktops in KDE

Hi,

I'm using Debian with KDE. Is is possible to have a window over multiple virtual desktops and how can I set this? I know that in Gnome is possible.

Thanks in advance,
Adriana

I am not sure what do you mean. Maybe it's the "sticky" property, which ensures the window is shown in all your desktops.

I don't use kde, but you should be able to set that in the menu that appears when right-clicking the title bar of a given window. In the kde control panel there's a place where you can set that (and other properties) as fixed for a given window, so you don't have to manually configure them each time.

I don't want my window to appear on all desktops, I just want to be able to enlarge a window such that it traverses the current virtual desktop and it appears also on another one.

Very annoying, I tried to find in the control desktop menu where I could set a property like this, but I wasn't able to find it.

I see and understand now. I have no idea if kde can do that (well, it's kwin anyway who would do it). Fvwm supports this feature and you can run it under kde (or under gnome or whatever), however it's far from being a wm that works out-of-the-box. I don't know if there's any other out there that can do this.

Or run a capable WM under kde. You could even try running the gnome wm under kde (metacity instead of kwin).

I haven't kwin installed to test, I'd still wait for someone using a recent kde version to answer. I haven't used kde 4.x at all, just some pieces of it and kwin is not one of them.
