I want to know if there is a window manager like Fluxbox or something similar that I can use that is fast but also allows for weather reports on the desktop like Gnome. I would like something to show me the weather, and system stats. What can I use?
People who use lightweight window managers tend to prefer text-based system monitors. The most popular one, as far as I know, would be conky (http://conky.sourceforge.net). If you do decide to use it, you can work with pretty much any window manager (Fluxbox included).
See, my biggest problem with Fluxbox was that I didn't have icons, also, I tried to install it and used the menu-generate command and didn't get anything. I don't know if I did something wrong or not. I would like to use Fluxbox again...(with some sort of weather desktop program if possible)
