Exclamation - why doesn't Watter Effect work on beryl(fedora core 7) please help


ok i am using a 9200se ati card (fedora core 7 ) well every thing work well on fedora exsept Watter Effect. Well all the other thing i do on beryl but i do not know hwy m water effects do not work. Well lets say i wanna do toggle rain well the short cuts for that is

Shift+F9 N/A well i go to my desktop an do it shift F9 left click nothign hapens so i try right click nothing happens. an i have this same problem with all my other or different types of watter effects the short cuts do not work

an i am running fedora core 7 as my current os so please help me if you need more info to help me please write it down on your post i will be happy to give you what you need to help me thanks

Hey,

I have the same problem but I found out that my video card: Geforce 4 Ti4200 doesn't have the pixel shadding needed for that effect. If you card does not have the ability to pixel shade the effect will simply not work hope this helps ya, I am unsure of the specs of your card.

Well i did some digging for you and it looks like your card does have pixel shadding v1.4 however it seems to fail on bigger pixel shadding jobs according to some users. Also I forget what version of pixel shadding the water effects users but i think its 2.0.

well dude i went to the link but no help you gave me something that is in adio there is no download i can get can i please get some help on will i get it to work

Unless you can find a driver set for your video card that will allow it to do the pixel shading some other way you won't be able to use the rain effects unless you get a new graphics card Some people have had luck tweeking the drivers / settings files to get it to work and since your card does support pixel shadding v1.4 you might have some luck but you may just need a newer graphics card
