Hi:
I have two old Palms - VIIx that I don't use the wireless and M105 which is pretty much my mobile brain. Ubuntu 8.10 and Gnome with Evolution works great and most of all my contacts come out looking the way I want them. Evolution is the closest to Outlook. In the menu bar => System => Preferences will be a Palm OS devices choice. This comes as default. Identify the Palm and Evo will sync it up. Also have J-Pilot 1.6.2 installed and works great. Never did get KDE to work with Palms.
Good Luck and hope this helps.
BTW Palm VIIx's are on Ebay for about US$20-30. I like the slightly bigger screen.
Regards,
Randy3011

Palm TX, Fedora 10, Evolution, and Gnome Sync Problem

I have installed Fedora 10 on a system that ran Fedora 8 and would sync properly with my Palm TX and Evolution, but I'm not getting the same results with similar settings or others.
If you would share some of the details, like the USB port, /dev/whatever, and anything else you might think of, it would be appreciated.

I personally have found PIM synchronization nirvana with the Google gPhone.
My contacts and calendar are synced to a Google Mail Account.
Evolution pulls down this information easily and can update it as well. If I am away from my phone / laptop. I can always pull up a friends browser and access my contacts / calendars from there.
I heartily endorse the gPhone for anyone wanting to be very productive using a Linux desktop and phone.
