On a Debian/Ubuntu style system:
You can put the scripts in /etc/init.d/, and then configure them to run at the appropriate run-levels with update-rc.d(8)
On Redhat:
It's similar, but use the service command.
On either, the less invasive method:
Just run them from your ~/.bashrc, if that's enough. Or in /etc/bash.bashrc, if you want it to happen for each user.
