VNC access to a desktop

I've heard one of the VNC programs is able to access an existing X server (as opposed to making a virtual one in RAM). Does anyone know which VNC program that is. Also, can it do this access before anyone has logged in to X (like after a fresh reboot), to do the login?

Hi,

I guess you mean x11vnc. And yes you can get the login screen after reboots, or logouts
