is there anyway of getting VB.net in Linux?

Why would you. VB.net is for microsoft becuase it relies on the .net framework. This is just me but I would pickup java or another cross platfrom language. I started vb.net but ran into the same thing you did but Then I told myselft the same thing I am telling you. By moving to a cross platform language you are tearing away the barriers of Operating System dependency.

Ta-dah!! .NET framework for linux, and it's native! Mono is a pretty well established project, your VB.NET stuff should work fine with it

cs-cam After I posted I happend to find the mono project but could not find this thread again. Partialy because I was taking care of family affairs.
