Using Libre office with multiple KDE desktops

I have 2 virtual KDE4 desktops set up for different widgets in each desktop. On Desktop 1 I open a document with Libreoffice writer.
On Desktop 2 I open a second document with Libreoffice writer -- however rather than opening the new document in Desktop 2 it opens it in Desktop 1. How do I make it open the document in Desktop 2? I have experienced this with both SuSE and Kubuntu distributions.

Assuming that LibreOffice hasn't departed too greatly from OpenOffice.org, in the extreme upper left corner of the LibreOffice header, there is an icon which displays the word Menu on mouseover (not the Menu in the toolbar). Click on that icon, and you will have a popup box with your desktops listed. Select the desktop you want the document to appear on.

In some applications, the icon is a stickpin (for setting the sticky bit). Open the document on the desktop where you want it and click on the stickpin so that it appears stuck into the page to set the sticky bit. That sticks it to the desktop it is displayed on.

Of course I can always move it after the fact to any desktop I want, but I shouldn't have to. I never had a problem with this using KDE3
