Update OpenGeu application menu after installing an application

I have a problem in opengeu 8.04.1. After i installed application via add/remove programs the menu is not updated automatically. for instance i installed ati catalyst but the launcher for the said application is nowhere to be found. Please help.

This is one of the gripes of some writer about opengeu, the menu is not updating automatically. Can You tell me what is the command or something that i can do to force OpenGeu to update its desktop environment to update its application icon menu
