ubuntu 8.10: launching tweetdeck from run application dialog

Hi,
I've installed tweetdeck. The path to the executable is /opt/TweetDeck/bin/TweetDeck. Tried to create a link in the following manner in my /home/userprofile

$ ln -s /opt/TweetDeck/bin/TweetDeck tweetdeck

But when I hit Alt + F2 to invoke the Run Application dialog and type in tweetdeck, it says this app is not registered...

How can I run tweetdeck from the run application dialog simply typing tweetdeck?
