trying to get sharp fonts on Fedora 10 x86_64 -- normal good, bold bad

I'm trying to set up my system (Fedora 10 x86_64) to have sharp, Windows-style fonts, following the directions on www.sharpfonts.com.

So far everything looks great, except Tahoma Bold and a few other bold fonts. Normal typeface looks great, bold looks really crappy and blocky.

I've uploaded a screenshot -- if you know anything about fonts and wouldn't mind taking a look, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks very much!

You need to disable system wide anti-aliasing.

There is nothing called 'windows-style fonts'

Aha. OK, how do I disable system-wide anti-aliasing?
