think i deleted gnome desktop environment on FC5
I was running "update or remove software" from the administration menu, planning to add an email program. I believe I inadvertently uninstalled my gnome desktop at the same time.
I boot up to the Gnome login screen but when i log in it takes me to a TWM environment, not my normal Gnome desktop. The only options showing in "Change session" at the login screen are: Last Session, System default and terminal. I was going to use YUM to re-install but am not sure what the package name should be. Try yum install gnome. That should work.

I tried:yum install gnome and got the response "No match for argument gnome"

HaHa, from twm using xterm I was able to execute "gnome-panel" which game me access to "Add and Remove Software" and was able to re-install the Gnome desktop.
Things are back to normal.. Thanks, |
