There was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon
Hi All,
Did a little googling (not a lot of help) and did a search on this forum to no avail. I just upgraded from debian stable to debian testing and now get this error message immediately after logging in:
There was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon.
Some things, such as themes, sounds, or background settings may not work correctly.
The last error message was:
Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.
GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next time you log in.
Anyone else run into this?

Make sure these 2 lines are in
/etc/network/interfaces:
Code:
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

Thanks Repo for the response. I'm a little confused, will this address the Gnome Settings Daemon issue mentioned in the error message?
Thanks Much,
ab

It should, this is one of the solutions when you get this error message.
(after a google search)
I would suggest you try it out.
