I want to configure tataphoton data card in my desktop CENTOS 5.

my outputs are
[root@eLib ~]# lsusb
Bus 005 Device 002: ID 12d1:1446 Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000

[root@eLib ~]# wvdialconf wvdial.conf
Scanning your serial ports for a modem.

ttyS0<*1>: ATQ0 V1 E1 -- failed with 2400 baud, next try: 9600 baud
ttyS0<*1>: ATQ0 V1 E1 -- failed with 9600 baud, next try: 115200 baud
ttyS0<*1>: ATQ0 V1 E1 -- and failed too at 115200, giving up.
Port Scan<*1>: S1 S2 S3

Sorry, no modem was detected! Is it in use by another program?
Did you configure it properly with setserial?

Please read the FAQ at http://open.nit.ca/wvdial/

If you still have problems, send mail to wvdial-list@lists.nit.ca.

mY wvdial.conf

Modem Type = Analog Modem
Baud = 9600
New PPPD = yes
Modem = /dev/ttyS0
ISDN = 0

[Dialer netconnect]
Username = ( Add your Phone Number here)
Password = ( Add your phone number here)
Phone = #777
Stupid Mode = 1
Inherits = Modem0
[root@eLib ~]# wvdial
--> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.54.0
--> Warning: inherited section [Modem0] does not exist in wvdial.conf
--> Initializing modem.
--> Sending: ATZ
--> Sending: ATQ0
--> Re-Sending: ATZ
--> Modem not responding.

Once again, since you've missed it numerous times. There are NOT JUST SIRS on this site.

And have you tried to check Google?? Putting in "linux tata photo plus" brings up lots of links and info.
http://linuxers.org/howto/how-set-ta...004-lucid-lynx
http://forum.sabayon.org/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=19229

They are for Ubuntu and Sabayon, but the steps/procedures are the same. Install the usb-modeswitch package (your online repos should have it), and follow the instructions. A USB device will obviously not show up as a serial port, but as /dev/ttyUSBx, so you can manually edit the wvdial.conf file if needed. You don't say what desktop you're using, but have you tried right-clicking on the network manager icon, and adding a modem connection???
