system restoration from file back up


yast control centre suse 11.2

under system restoration ( restore files from back up archive) the restore module says the archive can be read from a local file which is already on the system ( it is on a mounted file system). if this is done would existing data such as printer drivers etc be deleted in the process.

would the existing setup for the printer , open office and dial up for the internet connection be deleted in the process Thank you for the interest

They'd be preserved, using Clonezilla as a backup tool.
I cannot say regarding other backup programs.
