Switching from GNOME to KDE?

Due to circumstances beyond my control (read: WoW and Eye Candy addiction) I have to reinstall Linux on my machine (read: Windows Vista is a <expletive deleted> and destroyed my linux partition).

I've heard from a variety of people that KDE is a better desktop environment for me. I currently use GNOME and I haven't given KDE a serious chance since it was my desktop back in the bad old days (Red Hat 6).

So, since I don't quite get the advantages of KDE does anyone want to give me any tips on
a. why to switch over
and b. what diferences in behavior/quirks can I expect from KDE

Thanks in advance!

How could anyone except you know what is right for YOU???

KDE and Gnome are different...Gnome goes for simple--the theory being not to confuse the user. KDE goes for maximum options and widgets---giving the user maximum control.

Try them both--you can install both on one distro and then have two logins, e.g.:
Gnome: ctlr-alt-F7
KDE: ctrl-alt-F8

It eas a hard switch but I dove right in and made the jump to using Gnome as my preferred Graphical User inter face (G.U.I). To be honest I know cringe when I have to put up with Ubuntu or any other non KDE Desktop Environment.

Tip: do a google search with the following search term KDE Reviews

Gnome Reviews, or you could even check out the desktop of the year thread.
