Hi,
I'm a brand new linux (SUSE 10.1) user. I have my linux box, and two other PCs with Windows 2000 Professional on them. I have a peer-to-peer network, with one of the Win2K boxes serving as a kind of a printer host with it's printer stuff shared. The other Win2K pc is wirelessly hooked up to the network via a 2Wire wireless "router" (is that the right term?) and I CAN successfully print directly from it. My linux box has an ethernet cable going directly to the back of this 2wire thing. On my linux box, I have successfully networked to the files on both my Windows PCs, but still have not been able to print from my linux box. I've gone to printer setup on my linux box, and all I see available is "generic" printer. Any ideas?
KDE has a setup wizard that will walk you through the steps to install a new printer. Since you didn't specify which desktop you use, maybe you didn't see that option...
Under the setup you described - you would choose Install Windows shared printer. Make sure you know the IP address and the printer's Shared name.
Hi,
I've looked and looked for this setup wizard. I have KDE 3.5.1, level "a". Where would I find this wizard?
