When using LibreOffice ver 5 spreadsheet, whenever I click on a cell and then 'Format Cells' and then click something, a box appears with amessage: "soffice.bin wants to install fonts: Central Khmer, Burmese Install/Cancel"
Hi pan64. That would appear logical, except that it happens when I start a fresh (new) spreadsheet. This has not been the case on versions prior to ver 5.3.
I'm not au fait with how to do so with the rpm package manager, but have you checked to see that your system is up to date with all dependencies in place?
Thanks for your continued interest. The link you provided and an unanswered post on ask.libreoffice.org by someone else suggests I'm not alone. I tried the mature "still" version of LibreOffice_5.2.6 which exhibited the same problem.
Re: DavidMcCann
The Mageia repository version is 4.4.2.2 which is rather old compared with 5.3.1.2 or the mature "still" version 5.2.6. OpenOffice would seem to be a retrograde step.
I have since found a bug report dated Fri, 09 Dec 2016 at https://www.mail-archive.com/libreof...msg381265.html which describes the same experience I have. If you click yes (to install the fonts), LibreOffice responds with:Search results in:
Search results in:
Failed to find fonts
No new fonts can be found for this document
With Libre Office 5.3.3.2 on Open Suse 42.3 with KDE I had the same experience.
Found this solution (translated from the Dutch - version):
Go to "Extra"
Go to "Fonts"
Under "Settings of Fonts from HTML-, BASIC- and SQL-sources"
I changed 'Automatic' into 'Courier New'
After that LO acted normal.

that means the default font was not installed (the font which was set as default in LO, or the one which is used automatically if not specified directly).
Is not a really helpful response. What did you try exactly, what happened exactly?
How Tools->Option->Fonts are configured (all the fields)?
I followed the instructions as closely as possible. There is no "Extra", so I used "Tools/Options/Fonts". I left "Apply replacement table" checked. I changed 'Automatic' to 'DejaVu Sans Mono'. There was no option 'Courier New'. I then clicked on a cell, created a border, clicked 'Format/Cells', clicked on the up arrow to increased the boarder size, whence the operation froze, bringing up a window asking me to install fonts: Central Khmer, Burmese Install/Cancel".
Which is the same explanation I gave in my original post, hence my "that did not work for me".
