slackware13 with kde 3.5.10 no usb-stick
hi there,
i installed slack13 without a kde-dektopenviroment ..it went fine. problem...no extern usb-drive (stick) pops up in my kde enviroment(missing the pop-up window) in xfce enviroment the extern usb-drives are recogniced correctly...so it must be a kde-specific problem.. ------------------------------------------------------------------ what i did so far... so afterwards i installed the kde 3.5.10 packages from here: ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackwar...packages/i486/ now as usual i start the enviroment with "startx" from cli...works. (there is no kdm there...i dont need em anyway) when i plug in a extern usb-drive..i can se in /var/log/messages..that it is recognices from kernel...but no pop-up emerges .... so does anybody know, how i can fix this issue? btw: user is in group plugdev and haldaemon too greets günter |
KDE 3.5? How quaint!
You probably need to check that device icon display is enabled for the desktop. For this and other possibilities check this thread. http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...desktop-662319 PS - Please use a mirror rather than accessing packages directly from slackware.com |
