Set terminal as desktop background

Hi guys.

How can I set a terminal as a desktop background?

I'm using Fedora 7.

I found a "how to" for Ubuntu, but since it is Debian based I was not sure if I should follow it.

Thank you for your time.

u want to set terminal's background as your desktop(if yes please specific what terminal u use), or u want to make your kde/gnome desktop background (normally is a wallpaper) become a real terminal(I never heard b4)?

I'm using Gnome for my desktop, so I guess it would be gnome terminal for bash shell.
What I would like to happen is to see my shell/terminal/cmd embedded in to my desktop background. So basically my desktop would act as a shell on top of a wallpaper.

Hi Vitalka,
ops, never heard before. But I have an alternative for you.
-Install either 'tilda' or 'yakuake'.
-Run it, press f12 to toggle in/out.
-Configure yakuake/tilda to force it utilize whole screen.

Regards,
Ks

Just as an aside, Fedora 7 is ancient and has been unsupported since 2008. It may be doing what you want, but no security updates have been available for four years.

The current release is 16. You would do well to upgrade.
