Reverse video colors on X

Hello!

Is there a way to reverse the video colors on X, so that I get black background and white text on applications that don't naturally support it? (xpdf for instance has a '-rv' option...)

I looked at the package, but okular seems not to support djvu files... I would like to have a way to invert the colors of the entire screen...

It really depends on the application. Some apps will support changing colors, some others might be tweakable via their toolkit (qt or gtk or whatever else).

Okular supports pdf, ps, djvu, ebook and even windows chm help files. So, you either are using a really ancient version of okular, or you really meant kpdf and not okular (or maybe you compiled okular yourself without djvu support, which is certainly possible).

There's no generic way that I know of, except for a compiz plugin that did exactly that: reverse video for a given window, that will work with *any* window of any kind (regardless if the result is usable or not). But for that you would need to use compiz as your wm. I don't know if it still exists, I am not into compiz. But you could give that a try.
