resizing unresizeable windows? (compiz maybe?)

I just got an eee pc... the one thing where the default 800xsomething resolution doesn't work well is party poker. Since I play quite a lot, I'd like to be able to play at least one table over their java client.
The tables aren't resizeable in the java version, but I was thinking maybe there is a compiz plugin.
Or maybe you can set the virtual resolution to be greater. I read a bit about that, but I can't find a definite howto.

I do have 1gig of ram in there, so if I feel adventurous, I'll try to get virtualbox running - which is how I do it on my main PC.

My Guess is that if the client is not resizeable it is because they are not using a layout manager that can handle resize.

I'd go for installing PartyPoker under Wine.

Doesn't work with wine. :(

For those having a similiar issue:

For now I got it to work with virtualbox. Counterintuitively the xp vdi boots up rather quickly - something like 40 seconds... should be shorter with suspend.
Now - the windows still aren't rezisable because the bottom of the windows isn't visible and I don't know how to push windows over the top of the screen if this is even possible in XP. Partypoker has a "cascade tables" option that resizes multiple tables to fit the screen. Unfortunately that feature is disabled below a resolution of 1024x768. So I set the virtual machine to that resolution, start two tables, click "cascade", and then switch into seamless mode. Not the most beautiful solution, but since I rarely play one table, and two table are manageable even on the eee, I'll take that for now..

The question still remains however.
I'm positive that a compiz plugin should be able to do it, I just don't know of any that do it.

Ok I just saw this link and figured it was possible without having tried it my self :/

The problem with this is that the software gets monthly updates, sometimes more. So it might work with one version but be broken on the next. I just tried it again. It will start up, but nothing much beyond that.
