I don't use KDE, but I like your post.
You could try something like Advanced>Special Window Settings or whatever it is under the left titlebar button menu thing. If that doesn't help by unsetting or resetting, you could try hunting in the ~/.kde directory (unless they've moved it under the XDG dirs) and look for the files controlling your settings. If you can find something specific about the setting you don't like, you can try something like
find ~/.kde -iname '*APPNAME*' -exec grep -H SOMETHING_SPECIFIC {} \;
which might show you which file to edit manually or delete. Failing that, I'm afraid you'd have to blow out your settings or live with it. Good luck.
