Remote Desktop Connection won't change color of mouse.

Hi,

The host machine is Ubuntu 64bit, latest release.
Windows 2008 R2 running on VMWARE, workstation 7.0.
I have LTSP clients running Fedora 10, which are connecting to the Windows 2008 R2, using Remote Desktop Connection.

Only one application I have problem seeing the mouse, since its white on white. I would like to change the color of the mouse to black.
I tried several options for RDC like -a 16 for 16 bit graphics, but to no avail.

What can I do to have a better Remote Desktop environment?
Is there another Remote Desktop Client that I can use?
How good and easy is TightVNC?
Which other solution are there?

As always, thanks a bunch!!!
