Questions about configuring KDE4

I just upgraded to My Kubuntu 8.10 to KDE4, but I can't seem to find the correct options/menu to perform a number of basic configuration options like:

-how do I add an additional kicker/plasma panel?
-how do I change the colour of the panel?
-how do I move/remove the "Add widgets" foot thingie from the top right of the desktop?
-how do I change the K Menu back to the same behaviour as KDE 3.5?
-where the heck has KWeather gone?
-how do I activate wobbly windows?
-how do I activate the desktop cube?

Any help would be appreciated thanks!

Can't be done at the moment as far as I know.

That widget does not seem to be available yet.

Startup System Settings (the Spanner & Screwdriver icon), select Desktop put a checkmark in Enable Desktop effects then click the All Effects tab and put a checkmark in the effects you want to enable.

Q:-how do I add an additional kicker/plasma panel?
A:Right click the panel and select Add Panel.
Nope. Option does not exist. Only available options on the right click are "Panel Settings" and "Add Widgets", all "Panel Settings" seems to do is adjust panel location and size. Similarly there is no widget I can find that adds an extra panel.

Sorry, that option doesn't seem to exist either. The closest is "Configure Desktop", but all that does is change the wallpaper.
If I go to "K -> Computer -> System Settings -> Appearance -> Theme Manager" I can change the theme, but it doesn't change the colour of the panel.

A:What behaviour do you mean?
I mean in KDE 3.5, I clicked on "K" and a menu popped up, and expanded automatically when I moved the mouse around it, and I didn't need to scroll or anything.
In KDE4, I click on "K" and a menu (with ridiculously huge icons and text btw) pops up with a "Search" input box at the top, a scroll bar on the side and the tabs "Favorites", "Applications", "Computer", "Recently Used" and "Leave" at the bottom. To get to sub menus, I have to click on them and to get back I have to click on an arrow bar on the left. This is *really* annoying. Additionally, some items I have to get to by clicking on the tabs at the bottom, or good god, *scrolling* the scroll bar in the menu!
I want my simplicity back! This takes me 4 times as long and multiple clicks to get to applications I could "mouse surf" to in KDE 3.5.

Tried that, they don't seem to be there. Is there an extra or plugin I need to install? I know they exist, I have seen YouTube videos and articles to the effect, but none of them tell me how to install/activate them.

I guess I will just have to wait until KDE4 is actually ready. I'd really like to get access to the compositing effects of KDE 4 (since Compiz does not play nicely with KDE 3.5), but I also don't want to give up the useability and appearance I have gotten used to

Thanks for trying.

Is your version KDE4.0 or 4.1? It could also be the upgrade only installed the minimal components. Check your package manager to see what else is available. To change back to the KDE3.5 menu, right click the 'K' and select Switch to Classic Menu Style.
