program's icons gone

Hi All,

I have Fedora 11 installed, and use the Gnome desktop. Recently, the icons for programs such as Firefox, Gparted, Vi, etc. seem to have disappeared!
For example, my Firefox icon on the top gnome panel changed to what appeared to be a zoomed-in version of a terminal icon. In the Applications menu, the icons for several programs (listed above) simply don't show next to the text.
Not all icons are affected. It appears to be only programs which were not in the default Fedora install. Has anyone seen an issue like this, or have any suggestions on what i can look at?

Thanks
