Program for Linux and KDE (I have Gnome)
Hello
I have installed DBDesigner4, a mySQL database writing program, and I am having problems with a DBExpress error. having a look at the about splash screen(for DBDesigner4) it says it is for Linux KDE, I have gnome installed on my machine, this may seem a stupid question but is there something on the KDE desktop system that isnt on the Gnome one that would cause it to not connect to a mySQL server? FC3 (newest kernel) LAMPP installed for the Apache server and mySQL DBDesigner4 keeps coming up with DBExpress Error Username/Password incorrect( they are correct as I can log into it via the PHPMyAdmin pages. any help gratefully recieved Paul |
Yes, Kde has certain libraries that Gnome does not have and vice versa. Some packages require that you have gnome. IE gdesklets is one.

Thanks for that
I installed KDE and fully updated it, set it as my default desktop and then tried again with DBDesigner4 with the same fault, oh well, thanks for the reply back to searching the internet to find the answer |
