Hi,

Have a look here: How many ways can you install an RPM in OpenSUSE Linux

Hope this helps.

i thought the problem is with proxy ,but i set the proxy in

Hi,

I lost you.

In your first post you mention that you already downloaded the rpm and are trying to install it, so it is on your machine already. What does this have to do with proxy settings (which are for outside communication)?

Could you rephrase the question and try to be more clear about what you cannot do?

for every software that i want to install it occures.and nothing will be installed.
pls ,tell me what i should do?

Hi,

First thing you need to do is click on "show details" (second picture). There might be a hint about the problem.

What happens if you execute this command: ping -c3 download.opensuse.org

I just tried the url in the picture (http://download.opensuse.org/distrib...n-oss/media.1/) and it is accessible.

About the proxy you mentioned: Do you actually need a proxy?
- If not: Make this empty.
- If you do need one: Enter the appropriate url.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

You are able to reach the site (ping command doesn't show any packet loss).

This I'm not sure about: for accessing the internet we have to set proxy on browser
Did you also configure yast to use the proxy?

hamedhsn 08-26-2010 05:44 AM

yeah,i have already set the proxy in yast>network services>proxy

Hi,

I had to search a bit and found this:
Mailinglist Archive: opensuse-bugs (5410 mails)
and this:
Bug 556299 - aria2 does not handle (the lack of) IPv6 properly

I'm not sure if this will also fix your problem (I do think so). Have a look at comment 22 it holds an url thet points to the mentioned program. Also have a look at comment 30.

Hope this helps.

Servers were down

The Opensuse servers were down for a while recently. First open Yast and open the Software Repositories. Select (highlight) one of the enabled repositories. Then click to Refresh Selected. This will let you know if you can connect to the servers.
Also, the repositories listed to Autorefresh, will attempt to connect to each of the servers whenever you open the install software application. As long as you have refreshed them recently, you might want to disable Autorefresh.
When you download an RPM, there will usually be dependencies not included with the RPM. Yast will attempt to find those dependencies whenever you launch the Install Software application, and if the repository server for that dependency is down, you will get an error as described in your post.

@Wifi-Fanatux: The servers were reachable (see post #6 and #7). Post #10 shows this to be a bug in one of the default packages that came with 11.2 (I did not check if this is true for other versions as well). A bugfree version is available.

No Proxy Domains

Do you have the IP of your machine listed in the No Proxy Domains?
