problem with conky and echinus

Haven't found anything on the net about this problem, so here goes. I am using Arch Linux and I have Echinus and Conky installed. With just about any other "normal" (stacking) window manager, Conky works okay. When using Echinus, Conky mysteriously shrinks a small black square in the upper right corner of my screen. Here's what the files look like:

conkyrc:
Code:
background yes
use_xft yes
xftfont monospace:size=12
xftalpha 1
update_interval 1.0
total_run_times 0
own_window yes
own_window_colour 222222
own_window_transparent no
own_window_argb_visual true
own_window_argb_value 170
own_window_type desktop
own_window_hints undecorated,below,sticky,skip_taskbar,skip_pager
double_buffer yes
minimum_size 250 400
maximum_width 300
draw_shades yes
draw_outline no
draw_borders no
draw_graph_borders no
default_color d9d7d6
default_shade_color 000000
default_outline_color d9d7d6
alignment top_right
gap_x 12
gap_y 24
no_buffers yes
uppercase no
cpu_avg_samples 2
override_utf8_locale no

I would really like to know what's going on here. Anyone know why Conky shrinks so much?

I don't use conky often, but I do use echinus and gave it a try. Same thing here.

What I found is changing "own_window yes" to "own_window no" in the conkyrc file fixed it.

EDIT: Yes! It works!
