Point this user to desktop candy programs :)

Hello everybody

I know this is probably a very large request but sometimes I see some impressive screenshots and I can never quite reproduce them (or even compose a cool desktop of my own!) so here goes:

Which Desktop Candy programs / scripts are you aware of and what do they do ?

The only things I know of are:
Compiz and/or Beryl (I use the latter)
gDesklets (which I unfortunately think is rather dull, I can't find any good desklets and many seem buggy)
SuperKaramba -KDE based Desklets.. Seems rather nice
Torsmo - http://torsmo.sourceforge.net/ -- Text-based system monitor, looks awfully cool if you ask me
Conky - Lightweight text-based system monitor originally a fork of Torsmo, even better than Torsmo it would seem

And I seem to be able to find a few ways where one can stick a terminal on one's background, a concept which I like a lot

But that's it.. Now.. I usually use Gnome but I'm tinkering with the idea of using Fluxbox instead as I wouldn't shy from getting a more *nix-like desktop (I don't know, but Fluxbox seems more unique to *nix than KDE or Gnome)

However, please reply with whatever desktop candy programs you happen to like, regardless of dependencies or WM-defaults (just be sure to state if it's for a single WM)

Oh, and if anyone know some interesting menus that would be cool too

Oh, and as an extention.. When I go to look for themes I usually use kde-look.org, gnome-look.org and so.. There's even a few sections at deviantart with some themes whereas freshmeat seems to have themes for every WM.. Where do you go ?

I use Fluxbox;
Fluxbox screenshot
On the top is wbar, I had the mouse on gftp when I took the shot. You can edit the themes to change the colors and much more. On the right is conky, and the terminal is aterm. If you want to try something just let us know.
have fun ...

BUMP!
I should think that anyone looking at this thread would also happen to know at least -some- sort of desktop/eye candy project.

And in regards to Fluxbox:
Thanks I'm already in the process of setting up fluxbox and conky (which is a great program!)

Any links for interesting things for fluxbox ? (I will google the other programs you mentioned)

Currently I'm going through Gentoo documentation, they have a very good howto index There's even tutorials for Conky and Fluxbox
