Playonlinux, Office 2007, Open With

I just discovered I can install MS Office 2007 really easily with playonlinux. However, opening things like .docx files automatically has proven to be somewhat tricky. Has anyone been able to do this? I can get Office to load when I double click on an appropriate file, however the file itself isn't opened in the program automatically.

You want to avoid using any version of Office - since it is ooxml files you have to deal with, I can understand why you'd feel the need.

Do Office formats other than docx open OK?

Assigning file types to programs usually involves assigning a command to a mime type. IIRC: docx does not work well this way, you may find that some files will auto-open and others won't. Or it may just be that the command is not written to do this.

For playonlinux, this is usually a script.
