Plasma 5 and Gnome 3 together or dual boot?

I find Gnome 3.18 fit's my needs as a media consumption oriented desktop. For work I find it to confining. Will Plasma and Gnome conflict each others desktop when using each individual desktop. I realize that I may have app's from gnome clutter my Plasma desktop and vice versa for Gnome. Would a simplified solution be to dual boot?

If your only running one DE at a time it shouldn't conflict with the other.

However if you have dual monitors one running KDE and one running Gnome it might but I think that's not so much a problem like it used to be in 2008 and earlier.

You would only dual boot if you already have one os installed on your current drive and wish to install another os on that same drive.-

Having done it myself in the past, I personally find it easier to use a full DE and as many window managers as you want. The only thing that should conflict is default apps.
You are correct about applications cluttering up both DEs. It will still be usable though. KDE and GNOME together will be nowhere near as bad as GNOME and MATE, or KDE and Trinity. Trust me, with those combinations, you're just asking for a headache.
