Photos and movies

Hello all,

I am looking for an application that shows pictures and movies one after another. I had found pornview (ahem) but it did not show my .avi that I had listed in the play list. Can anyone tell me of an alternative??

I am running Debian Squeeze.

How about Gwenview?

The OpenShot video editor is quite good: You can combine static images with music, and have them join video clips. So, static images +- video +- soundtrack. Shuffle it all around until you are happy.

Hello all, I have chosen VLC as my displayer. It supports all of my picture formats and video formats. The only real problem that I have with it is in the transitions with different files. My screen gets real "blinky" when VLC transitions fromm jpeg to .avi. Anyone know how to make a VLC playlist through the command line?
