Panel Freezes After Playing Games
Hi,
My top and bottom panels freeze on me a few minutes after playing games, like World of Warcraft (it's more like 60/40). At that point I have to CTRL+SHFT+F1 and then reboot the machine. This is becoming very tedious and I hate having to reboot my machine. This is LINUX for Pete's sake! I'm still kind of new to linux, but I need to figure out what the problem is.... or how I can find out what the problem is - right now I'm totally in the dark because I do not get any error messages. I'm running Fedora 9 (2.6.26.5-45.fc9.x86_64), GNOME 2.22.3 with 2GB of memory and a AMD Athlon 64 processor. My video card is a nVidia GeForce 8600 GT and I'm running the akmod 173.14.12-2 package. With my limited knowledge I'm thinking it's the video card drivers, but again - I don't know. I posted this on Fedora's forums too: http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=201505 |
i had the same problem on my windows xp that i use for games with a nvidia 8800gt, installing new drivers helped. i can't tell you if it is the same thing on linux because i dont use linux for playing games but for work.
