ObjectDock or something like that?
I wonder if it is windows-like ObjectDock at the bottom of the picture?
http://www.gnome-look.org/content/pr...=&name=nuoveXT What's that?I want it so bad. |
Its just a plain old GNOME panel that was just tweaked by the user. You can do something similar by tinkering with your GNOME panel settings (take a look at my GNOME screenshot).

Hey,I know this question is way too plain.
But i am just switch from windows to linux. So first of all, i will focus on my desktop. Thanks "reddazz". but i can't get anything from your saying to do my OpenSuse 10.2. Could you please give me more detailed information? Thanks a lot. |
I finally find out how things going.
Thanks reddazz again. |
But i got another question, is there a way to get rid of the "trash" and "root's home" icons or move them to the panel?
i drag the icon to the panel, but its a copy action, the original icon still there. |
Its not so easy to remove default icons on GNOME. What you can do is run gconf-editor ("Configuration Editor" in the GNOME menu. After that search for Applications -> Nautilus -> Desktop and deselect the icons you do not want to appear on your desktop.
By the way, its considered bad practice to login to GUI sessions as root on Unix and Linux systems. Search on this site and you will see past threads that explain why. |
Thank you reddazz, I got all things worked.
And also thanks for the notification of root disadvantage,i will check it out later. |
