Nvidia 3D rendering slows at certain intervals

Hi all,

Never had this problem before, but have it now with either AIGLX on or off.

Playing anything, like a 3D game or glxgears see performance great for 4 out of 5 seconds. What happens on every 5th second is it slows and becomes jerky and then back to normal again for another 4 seconds or so.

haven't timed it exactly, but its about that and very consistent.

I am running the latest Nvidia drivers "1.0-9755"
On a 6600GT
With a 19" Lenovo Widescreen LCD that runs at 1440x900@75.

The monitor is the only thing new since I had it all working fine, besides obvious driver and xorg updates etc.

Anyone had/have this problem ? Makes gaming impossible.

Thanks for reading.

Well I turned off a bunch of the vsync and flipping check boxes in the Nvidia-settings app and it seemed to of cured it, although it might be a tad less smooth now. Not sure. Further investigation is needed.

Just wondering is the proper sync's setup in your Xorg ? it could still be using the old sync's from your previous monitor and the refresh rates could be getting messed up. Just a thought.
