no authorization dialog on konqueror 4.1.2 (gentoo)

When i use konqueror to go to a website which needs authorization (the authorization via kde dialog, not an on-website form), it doesn't show up, but goes right to the page which you see when logging in wasn't succesfull (401 error page).

Why doesn't the dialog show up? Do i need another program to let it work? I'm using gentoo, so maybe i forgot to install an application or something? Or is it just a USE flag?

KDE (and konqueror) version is 4.1.2
