Need video software reccomendation

I'm looking for a program that will let me organize my home video clips with tags, like F-spot does for photos. Most of the clips are one-minute .avi files.

I'd like a program that displays thumbnails, lets me search on tags, and plays the video when double-clicked. Anything like that for Linux? I'm on Kubuntu. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure you can enable previews for video files in Konqueror settings. I believe it will also sort by type. Then you can save a profile and make a shortcut or menu entry to load it with that profile.

But I don't think it will search by tag info. For that you will need more advanced tools.

Yes, Konqi does let me see thumbnails, but I really need to be able to tag the videos and retrieve them by tag.

Did you try the junksorter I linked? I don't know / can't test it now.

Fozner, the junksorter is for sorting differnt types of files. I do have all my video files in one folder, but sometimes I'd like to view them. So I need an app that has a viewer, and lets me organise the videos so that I can find the one I want.

For instance, I know that I have a great video of Ety (the wife) and Gili (the dog) taken in Jerusalem. So I'd ideally click the tag Jerusalem, then Ety, then Gili. Now, I only see videos with those three tags. Just like F-spot does for pictures.

I'm begining to understand that Linux has no such program. Too bad. What programs do linux users use to organise the videos that digital cameras shoot?
