Need help with Kubuntu softwares
Hi
Im using linux for the first time. I've just installed Kubuntu 6.06 and none of the players that came along with play mp3s since the plugin isnt installed due to some patent rights probs. I know that we can install all packages using Automatix but I've got some problem connecting to the internet n stuff. So I was wondering if there is an rpm or sumthing that will install the codec. I guess Windows made me too lazy huh?!? :D |
You should be able to download the following packages from packages.ubuntu.com and install them using dpkg:
libxine-extracodecs, w32codecs, libarts1-mpeglib, libakode2-mpeg. What do mean that you've got a problem connecting to the internet? --Ian |

DPKG is the debian package utility, you can install packages using
Code:
sudo dpkg -i packageNameCode:
sudo dpkg -i libxine-extracodecs--Ian |
