Tried AQEMU, but it was so buggy I couldn't put up with it. Looking at the reviews of it I'm not alone...

"Unusable - Crashes on startup. Totally unusable."
"Crashes. Core dump. Bummer! - Looks promissing. I want this to work. Allas...it just crashes."

Any other good ones out there?

Had a little deja vu yesterday. Trying to run Unity 8 with Mir caused my screen to flicker and hard drive to run constantly...in the exact same way that RedHat 7 did in VirtualBox when trying to start X...interesting. Nothing of the sort reported on Launchpad.

Happened on Ubuntu 15.04 with unity8-lxc.

Limitations

Unity 8 uses Mir display technology. Proprietary video drivers do not yet offer the required level of support for Mir, so your experience if you're using the binary block nVidia or AMD drivers will be somewhat disappointing
