Nautilus: Mac-style gravitation on desktop cleanup -- possible?

Mac-style gravitation: shifting everything to the right, keeping the default spacing between icons but arranging in reverse column order to "normal"

It strikes me that what would be necessary is changing the coordinate orientation of the desktop -- moving (0,0) from top-right to top-left -- then following that with code to standardize the column order by class (name, type, modified, accessed etc.).

Sounds like something Konqueror and/or Dolphin already have. How about Nautilus?

And if not Nautilus, is there a GNOME-friendly WM that can do this?
