Mutt, IMAP and auto'refresh'

Hello,
I'm using mutt against my imap store. Fantastic software.
But, I Have a little question.
I'm also syncing the imap store to my phone, and when I'm at work, I only operate my mail through mutt, and usually I only work out of my inbox.
This causes all mail on my phone to stay marked unread, unless I manually du a $, or change my mailfolder in mutt. Not a sustainable solution...
Is it possible to 'purge' inbox/imap store at a given time interval? when I read mails on my phone, mutt catches on immediately, but not the other way round. My set timeout and set mail_check is both set to 10.

Any tips on this?
Thanks,
\\mK

I think you meant that you need to "autosync", not "autorefresh". (Refresh gets changes from the server to your local machine. Sync uploads your changes to the server, which is what $ does).

I've looked into this before. Apparently, there is no way of doing this. I guess the idea is to ensure that people don't lose their mail that way (you can always undelete if you still haven't synced with "$" ).

I remember someone had mentioned that it might be possible to use cron to do it, but I don't know how (post here if you figure it out, I'm curious).

But yeah..Mutt rocks.
