mounting a USB stick in Fedora 6

Hi,

I was wondering how I can mount a USB stick that shows up with a FAT fs in UBUNTU, on a machine with the Fedora Core 6 on it?

I dont know the name of the manufacturer!

Thank you,
Ashlesha.

most likely yes. have you tried it?

& if the hal daemon is running on fedora it will mount automatically.

thats the thing though -- it detects the disk -- but does not mount it in /media or /mnt!
does it mount it somewhere else?

the hald daemon is running -- so is the hald-runner and hald-addon-keyb

Thanks,
Ashlesha.

ok, in a terminal, as root, start
tail -f /var/log/messages

then unplug then plug back in.

what shows up in the terminal?

(it may be /var/log/syslog Im not sure)
