Motif-like widget behavior in GTK2 programs?

Qt4's built in Motif theme has some behaviors that make it snappier and more usable on slow computers, e.g.

- No menu entry highlights on mouseover
- Submenus don't open until clicked

Is it possible to set such behaviors in GTK2 programs? If so, how? I've been Googling, and have so far found hardly anything.
