Mint 11 Black Bars
Ive been running Mint 11 on my friends computer and it works great and I try to put it on my computer as a live boot and I get two black bars on the screen, is this because Im running it as a live boot or because of the specs on my system? Im using a Toshiba Satellite l505-s6946 with an Intel Core 2 Dup T6400, 3 GB SDRAM, and a 320GB Hard Drive. Is there any way I can remedy this?

Try these steps if you are experiencing a blank screen during boot or install of Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal.
1. LiveCD boots into a blank screen. When you see the boot menu when you boot LiveCD, hit F6 and select the “nomodeset” option. 2. Boots into a blank screen after install. Reboot and keep your finger on the “SHIFT” key till you get the grub menu. Highlight the first entry and replace “quiet splash” with “nomodeset” . Hit CTRL + X to continue booting. Once logged in install the latest Graphics drivers. System -> Administration -> Additional Drivers |
Im not getting a completely blanks creen, I shouldve specified more, my problem is that the aspect ratio is off and the desktop doesnt fill the whole screen
