Meaning of Synaptic message

When I try to mark a particular package for installation in Synaptic, first I get the understandable message, 'Mark Additional Required Changes ?' and after I choose 'Mark' I receive the "Could not mark all packages for installation or Upgrade' and in the unresolvable packages list I have lines like:

Depends: libqt4-core (=4.1.2-1ubuntu1) but 4.2.1-1mepis1 is to be installed

What is this line telling me ?

mepis is trying to install thier version of a package, but it is not compatible. Most of the time you are able to "uncheck" the mepis repository under settings in Synaptic. This will allow the "unbuntu" repository to add the proper package. Remember to update afterwords.
If you are going to use apt-get, just check comment the line for the Mepis repository in /etc/apt/sources.list, and run "apt-get update" at a terminal. (in root)
