Man pages with vim keybindings, and touch pad scrolling

I have two questions:
  1. I used to have the man pages have vim-like keybindings; h left, j down, k up, l right, etc..But after my reinstall of Debian, I don't have that anymore. I think I changed it by doing set -o vim, but that hasn't changed anything with the how the man pages scroll, etc.
  2. I have a Dell Inspiron 1000 with Debian testing on it. The touch pad has scrolling when you move your finger vertically down the right side, but this only works sometimes.
Anyone know how to fix these problems?

Thanks for any help.

  1. There schould be a vi(m?).[rc|conf(ig?)] on your machine. Have a look there.
  2. man man
  3. usually (i.e. on my system ;)) "man" uses "less". This can be changed, but I forgot where...
