Making kde less colourful

I switched to kde resently, but not sure how to remove all the default colour schemes it imposes. One of my main annoyances is that there is no fancy colour decorations while i run gtk programs (gedit, nautilus etc etc), but once i go into settings or any of the kde programs i get a coloured border around the window, like so( in screenshot), left of mouse cursor. How can i disable it. I have figured out how to change the colour but not how to disable it completely.

Thanks in advance

A quick workaround that i found is to change to gtk+ theme in application appearance--> style. But my intention was to keep with the good looks of kde and just disable the colours.
